Introduction to the Museum of Art
The Inner Seorak Baekgong Art Museum is located at the entrance of Baekdamsa Temple in Inje-gun, where the richness of Seoraksan Mountain and the coolness of Naericheon Stream coexist.
This is a special place where you can appreciate art in nature, and it is a place where you can feel the relaxation of nature and the scent of art at the same time.
It was established in 2011 by Chairman Jung Sang-rim, an art lover who has collected art for more than 40 years, and is currently operated by director Park Jong-yong. It is the first private art museum in Gangwon-do to be registered as a type 1 specialized museum under the Museum and Art Museum Promotion Act.
It has works by Park Soo-geun, Kim Hwan-ki, and Chun Kyung-ja, who are representative artists of modern Korean painting, and presents works by young contemporary artists through special exhibitions every year.
It also has various programs that support artists' creative activities and provide opportunities for local residents and tourists to experience art.
The museum building has a simple yet simple appearance and consists of one and two floors.
As a permanent exhibition, Park Jong-yong's [Daily Works] Exhibition (1st Exhibition Hall), "Gyeol" Exhibition Hall (2nd Exhibition Hall), and ceramics and sculpture Exhibition Hall (3rd Exhibition Hall) are operated.
It plans an annual special exhibition and operates an invitation exhibition of world-class modern and young Korean artists.
In addition to the main building of the museum, there is a sculpture park on the 20,000 pyeong land.
The sculpture park features works by famous sculptors, including the statue of Maria, outdoors, providing a landscape in which nature and art are in harmony.
In addition, there is Yongdae-ri Hwangtae Village, which is the largest producer of Hwangtae in Korea, so you can enjoy a gourmet trip where you can taste various foods using Hwangtae.
